What Is YouTube Monetization?
YouTube monetization is the process of earning money from your videos by allowing ads, memberships, or other revenue streams on your channel. Once you meet YouTube’s eligibility requirements—such as joining the YouTube Partner Program and having at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours—you can start generating income every time viewers watch ads on your videos.
Monetization can also include channel memberships, Super Chats, and even affiliate links or brand sponsorships. For creators, it’s the key step in turning a YouTube channel from a hobby into a reliable income stream.
